There is not much more frustrating than showing up for a round of golf and not having all the gear that you need. Looking into your bag and not finding your tees, glove, or golf balls can spoil your long-anticipated outing.
In addition to your golf club covers, continue reading for ideas on what to have in your golf bag.
Must Have
In your golf bag, be sure you have the following items.
- A full set of clubs with their golf club covers
- Depending on how many of your golf balls end up in the woods or water, pack six to eight golf balls. Make sure you have marked them ahead of your round.
- Always keep at least ten to fourteen tees
- Your golf glove
- A couple of pencils to complete your scorecard
- Water and snacks
Nice to Have
It is a fine balance between having what you need and can comfortably carry with having gear for all possibilities and over packing. Some items are contingent upon when and where you are golfing.
- A tool to repair divots
- Gear for changing weather – a rain jacket, umbrella, and rain hood to protect your clubs
- Sun protection – sunscreen, hat, lip balm, sunglasses
- Bug spray
- Small hand towel to wipe off the head of your clubs
- Name tag on your bag
Just in Case
If you are playing multiple rounds of golf, you may need some other supplies.
- In case of blisters, band-aids
- Bug spray
- Painkillers for any aches
- Rain pants
- Plastic zip bags to protect valuables from rain
- For cold weather – a hat, gloves, a warmer jacket
To make sure you have what you need for your next round, including your golf club covers, repack your bag after cleaning off your clubs.
